Ashley Solt therapist at In The Now Counseling kids and teens couseling

Hi! I’m Ashley.

Life is hard and our lives are busy. There are a lot of demands on men and women today. Our relationships can suffer from the fast pace that we keep.

Our children are dealing with social pressures and busy schedules which can lead to anxiousness and behavioral issues.

Work Experience

In my work as a therapist, I’ve gained valuable experience working with men, women, and kids. I support men and women with relationship dynamics, self-esteem building, boundary-setting, and stress management.

I help clients with presenting problems such as anxiety, mood and personality disorders, and behavioral disorders.I enjoy tailoring my approach to each client’s individual needs, so no two clients will receive the exact same course of treatment. I take pride in my ability to connect with clients on a personal level and have received positive feedback from many people that they feel comfortable, supported, and empowered during their sessions.

My past experience as a Behavioral Specialist has provided me with knowledge and skills that are especially helpful when working with children, adolescents, and parents.

For clients who enjoy “doing the work” between sessions, I am happy to recommend podcast episodes, books, social media accounts, etc. that can supplement whatever we’re working on.

Life Experiences

I grew up in State College, PA and got my bachelor’s degree at Penn State, so my loyalty to PSU runs deep! In my free time, I enjoy being with friends and family, making new recipes, going to concerts, and attending Penn State and Pittsburgh sporting events.

If I’m not relaxing at home with my two cats, Binx and Malone, you can probably find me leisurely perusing the aisles of Target or Trader Joe’s, or at one of my favorite music venues.

I also enjoy listening to podcasts and reading, both for leisure and to build my professional skillset.

Self-Care

Practicing self-care is very important to me. I keep a gratitude journal, set aside time to “unplug” and spend quality time with myself, and always have something scheduled that I can look forward to.
