Lucas Finnell, MA, MFT

Hi! I’m Lucas. Welcome!

I work extensively with men, women and teens. I know approaching therapy can be difficult. Many of us are taught to deal with our “stuff” on our own, but that shouldn’t be the case.

It shows strength to support, love and care for your family. And it’s that same strength that’s needed to ask for help. We all need help at varying times in our lives. We don’t have to carry all of that weight around. I’m here to help.

During our first visit, we can explore some areas of concern that are bringing you in. I like to create a flow of normal week-to-week sessions, and explore any concerns you may have.

While lighthearted, my therapy approach can be straightforward depending on your comfort level. It’s important that you feel comfortable when we work together.

Therapy for Men, Women, and Teens

I help men, women, and teens with anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders, in addition to challenges you face in relationships, whether at home, work or school, including parent/child dynamics.

Without support, whether from family, friends, and/or therapy, small conflicts become major altercations. When we don’t work on our mental health, when faced with stress, we lean towards coping mechanisms. We become withdrawn, depressed, and angry. Regulating and processing emotions is a learned skill that helps us get stronger. We’re more present for the people we care about and more productive in our day to day life.

It can be challenging, and sometimes scary, to face therapy. Even the best engines need a tune up every now and again. We aren’t any different.

My goal for our time together isn’t to have you seeking help forever. Instead, I want to empower you to find solutions that work for you and use your improved communication skills to problem solve going forward.
