Lucas Finnell, MA, MFT

Hi! I’m Lucas. Welcome!

I work extensively with men, women, and teens. I know approaching therapy can be difficult. Many of us are taught to deal with our “stuff” on our own, but that shouldn’t be the case.

It shows strength to support, love and care for your family. And it’s that same strength that’s needed to ask for help. We all need help at varying times in our lives. We don’t have to carry all of that weight around. I’m here to help.

Are you tired of soldiering on? Are you exhausted from having the same argument without any resolution? There is a better way – – an easier way. The good news is therapy works, and you don’t have to do it alone. I can help.

Maura Majcher In The Now Counseling

Maura Majcher, MS, LPC

Hello! I’m Maura.

Life can be absolutely overwhelming. Being in survival mode can get very old. Between the demands of work, school, managing a home, caring for children and being a good partner, it can become too much to handle alone.

I have years of experience working with women, men, and children where we focus on understanding how every part of your family system plays into how you function and survive.

Are you sick of just surviving? The good news is that therapy works, and you don’t have to do it alone!

Ashley Solt, MA, LPC

Hi! I’m Ashley.

Life is hard. Our lives are busy. There’s a lot of pressure on women, men, and children. Our relationships can suffer from the fast pace that we keep.

In my work as a therapist, I’ve gained valuable experience working with women, men, and children. I’ve supported women and men with self-esteem building, boundary setting, and stress management.

I help with parenting struggles, relationship dynamics and becoming better communicators.

Are you tired of struggling? Do you want to feel better? I can help.

Suzie Ackerman, Intern

Hello! My name is Suzie. I’m glad you’re here. Life can be so complicated. We work so hard to earn a living, care for our families and take care of our households. We give so much of ourselves to our children, our employers and our communities. We try our best to be a good partner and friend, but often we find that despite all our hard work, life can take unexpected turns leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, frustrated and hopeless. Relationships can become fractured, children can seem ungrateful, work is unfulfilling, and the thought of cooking one more meal or doing one more load of laundry can seem unbearable.

With over five decades of life experience, I can personally relate to many of the struggles of my clients. I have survived unthinkable things, unimaginable pain, and shocking disappointments in myself and my relationships. Through my own work in therapy, I learned just how beneficial it is to have a nonbiased professional to talk to.

I’m in my final year of a master’s program in clinical counseling from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. I’m working as an intern under the clinical supervision of our practice owner, Ann Marie Hefferan. I’ve been told that I’m warm, compassionate and easy to talk to. Are you struggling? Are you ready for something to change? I can help!

Ann Marie Hefferan, MA, LPC

Hello!  My name is Ann Marie Hefferan. I’m glad you are here!

I’m a therapist and founder of In The Now Counseling.

After working for several years as a solo practitioner where I focused on helping women, I decided to form a group practice in order to support men and children, as well.

My passion comes from my own experience as a mother, wife and caregiver. In my new role as group practice owner, I’m able to use both my therapy and life experience to mentor our therapists and look for ways we can best support you.
